With this tutorial, you will learn how to create brushes.

First, open up a blank print document and make it however big you'd like.

Select your Ellipse Tool and create a plain black circle like the one I did to the left.

Now, select your Direct Selection Tool and click onto the black circle that you just drew before this step.
1. Click the node on the right and drag it to the right so it points out a lot.
2. Click this button in the upper left corner when you're done. You should get something similar to the image at left.

Next, press ctrl + A on your keyboard to select everything. Then, click on the brush pallete (Window » Brushes) and click "new brush." Select new art brush. Make sure when the new window pops up after that, that you make sure the arrow is pointing in the direction of the brush like the image to the left.

If you look in your brush pallete, your see the brush in it! Click. If you draw around now using your Paintbrush Tool, you'll see how it shapes to your brush. But it looks fat and ugly right? So click on its Stroke and make it .25 pt. It looks a lot better now.
