I learned this trick a month or two ago browsing a site. Sadly, I have forgotten where :( So I figured I could teach you myself. First off, open a new document of anysize and fill it with two colors of your choice. Divide the two colors like the example to the left. Note: Make sure the two colors aren't too close together in color.
Next, click on your keyboard ctrl + w. The resize/skew box should pop up. Change the first box option to 1 and press ok. Don't worry, it is supposed to look extremely skinny.
Press ctrl + w once more and in the first box option enter 500. Again, do ctrl + w and enter 1. For the last time, press crtl + w and enter 500. Your gradient should be made by then. If not, repeat the previous steps. If still it is too skinny, that is normal. Press ctrl + w and enter 500. Do this multiple times until it is to your size liking.
