We're going to start off our icon by using the image on the left side.

First, create a new raster layer and fill it with the color #7f5c81 at 75%. Set that layer to lighten
Now, duplicate your first layer and set it to screen at 82%.
Next, create a new raster layer, and fill it with the color #625c81 at 100%. Set this layer to lighten.
Finally, feel free to add any effects you want! On this one, I used a white brush to make it look like a ray of light coming from the corner, and I also added some text for detail. =] You're done!
