With this tutorial, you will learn how to make a vintage texture/background/pattern.
Make a new layer, any size. I made mine 200x200. You should probably make yours around 600x600? [File >> New]. Use your fill tool to fill the layer in black.
Now, go to [Filter>>Render>>Difference Clouds.] Then, [ Filter>> Distort>> Diffuse Glow.] Use these settings: Graininess: 5, Glow Amount 16 and Clear Amount: 1.
Duplicate that layer and set it to Difference. Opacity: 82% Then, [Filter>> Sharpen >> Sharpen.]
If you want to keep going with effects. Double click on the top layer. A new window called "Layer Style" should pop-up. Check the "gradient overlay." Blend Mode: Vivid Light. Opacity: 64. Gradient:
Style: Reflected. You're done!
